Jon Gundersen, Co-Owner
Jon has more than 25 years experience in the HVAC industry and focuses on estimating, sales and project management. Prior to founding UMI, he was the Regional Vice President in charge of Bay Area operations for a statewide HVAC company. Jon has worked with local and national HVAC companies where he served as estimator and project manager, senior project manager, sales engineer, and Vice President of Strategic Accounts. Jon holds a BS in Engineering Technology (AC&R) from California Polytechnic State University. He is a member of A.S.H.R.A.E., SMACNA, and SCVCA.
Tom Sosine, Co-Owner
Tom has nearly 35 years of construction and HVAC industry experience and focuses on business development and operations. Before forming UMI, Tom served on the Strategic Management team for a regional HVAC company where he managed the sheet metal and piping union labor forces. Prior experience includes EVP Construction Operations for a national company, where Tom also managed departments including HVAC Sheet Metal, Piping/Plumbing, Purchasing and Safety. Tom attended Diablo Valley and Laney Colleges and was an apprentice with Sheet Metal Local 104. He is a member of SMACNA, SCVCA and SWMIA Union Local 104.
Mark Yeager – Director of Architectural Sheet Metal
Mark has over 20 years experience in the Architectural Metals field. At UMI he focuses on business development, sales, project management, operations and estimating. Before joining UMI, Mark worked for local HVAC/ASM companies in capacities including General Manager, Project Manager, Purchasing, Senior Project Manager, Director and Sheet Metal Specialist with Sheet Metal Local 104. Mark is a graduate of Leland High School and has attended West Valley College.
Blaine Flickner – Director of Sales/Engineering
Blaine has more than 18 years experience in the HVAC industry and focuses on Engineering, Estimating, and project management. Blaine has been a registered professional engineer for 10 years. Blaine has worked with local and national HVAC companies where he served as engineer, estimator, project manager, and sales engineer. Blaine holds a BS in Engineering Technology (AC&R) from California Polytechnic State University.
Rich Wilson – Operations Manager
Rich has 25 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Joining UMI in 2004 as the Operations Manager, Rich’s main focus is to oversee all Superintendent and Field Operations as well as develop systems and procedures for our Fabrication Shop, Warehouse and Delivery. With Rich’s Local 104 experience and track record of managing large projects, he is able to identify the needs of the General Contractor and their sub’s to help create a cohesive atmosphere that will insure the success of the project team.
Lynn Murphy - Director of Aministration
Lynn (also known as Construction Diva) has worked as an administrative manager in the construction industry for over 10 years and is the glue that holds it all together. In addition to filling the role of Office Manager, Lynn also oversees accounting, payroll, human resources, information technology and administrative support. Lynn attended Santa Clara University.
