Apple Computers

Since early 2007, United Mechanical and Apple have improved nearly 300,000 square feet of office and R&D space. These spaces have ranged from dedicated labs with 24/7 computer room air handling units to ultra modern and high-end exposed spaces meant to attract and retain the new generation of employee. As an industry leader in the field, Apple is among a select group of companies that have the environment in mind and has voluntarily registered their two most recent projects with the USGBC to attain a LEED Gold Rating. As one of Apple’s approved vendors, United Mechanical is committed to providing HVAC&R systems that have our engineering staff thinking outside the box in our designs while maintaining an efficient and functional system. The relationship with Apple and United Mechanical remain ongoing.

BEA Headquarters

This 18 story structure was built in 2000 but stood empty until BEA purchased it in 2007. The building consists of 12 Class A build out floors. The first 5 floors consist of the infrastructure necessary to support their business. This infrastructure includes an auditorium for all hands meetings and customer presentations; an executive briefing center, a full service kitchen and cafeteria, training center, and a corporate data center. This design build project was performed using LEED techniques.

Architectural Sheet Metal

Santa Clara University Library

The Santa Clara University Library project is a three story building with a basement totaling approximately 140,000 square feet. United Mechanical worked with the architect and the general contractor to ensure that a high quality, long lasting roof would be installed by the owner.

The end result was the installation of over 25,000 square feet of mechanically seamed 16 ounce copper roof panel installed over self adhered sheet membrane underlayment and approximately 1,200 square feet of a 16 ounce copper fascia. The copper metal roof system also has an integral 24” wide gutter built into the roofing system.

7,000 square feet of copper soffit panels installed at the roof overhangs designed and manufactured in house by United Mechanical.

SRV Towers

United Mechanical installed 20,000 square feet of pre-finished custom made 20 gauge metal siding at the building roof parapets and terrace parapets. There were thousands of lineal feet of stainless steel flashing as well as two entry canopies clad with a custom color composite panel.

The material was fabricated in house by skilled United Mechanical employees for total quality control.
